How to Self Contribute EPF using Maybank2u
NOTE: As of the writing of this article, you are only able to make payments via Maybank2u on your computer, and not on the mobile app
STEP 1: log in to the new Maybank2u website:
STEP 2: Navigate to the ‘Pay & Transfer‘ on the top menu:
STEP 3: Under the ‘Pay’ menu:
- Choose the account you want to pay from
- Keep the ‘Pay to’ option to ‘Payee’
- Manually type ‘EPF’ into the search box
- Select the EPF under the dropdown menu:
STEP 4: A pop-up menu will appear and fill up your details:
To get your EPF number, log in to your EPF account, and find it under the Profile tab:
There you go. Pretty straight forward. If you think that you’ll be contributing regularly, add EPF payee as one of your favorite.
Thank you for this article. I susah-susah try to find how to make contribution via Maybank2u, and only after reading your article I learned I should be searching “EPF” as payee. I was looking for “KWSP” and was puzzled why it wasn’t on the list.
You’re welcome! Malaysia and its dual-language acronyms!
Thanks for sharing this helped me.
Happy it’s helpful 🙂
Do we have to inform EPF if we wish to contribute more via Maybank2U ?
No you don’t. You can just top up whenever you want & it will show up in your EPF transaction history as ‘self-contribution’ or something along that line.
Thank you very much , sir . And the maximum we can self contribute should not exceed $5000 a month , including the contribution from normal company salary deduction , is that correct ?
According to EPF’s website, the max amount you can self-contribute is RM 60,000 a year: https://www.kwsp.gov.my/member/contribution/self-contribution
Hi Hasan,
Thanks for your sharing.
I was able to transfer fund to my EPF account , but is through Maybank2u website, not Maybank2u mobile apps, as i cannot locate the Payee name EPF.
Anyway, i was able to complete from Maybank website, but do you know how long it will take to update to my EPF account ? Will EPF give email notification or any history i can track my posting to my account ?
Thanks.
Eric Tan
It takes some time. The last time I volunteered to submit it, it took a few weeks. It will show up in your EPF statement or app marked as ‘volunteer contribution’ or something along that line.
Hi, I took all the right steps until it come to EPF no. My account numbers start with ‘0’ – maybank pop up mention my account should not begin with “0” ? Should I just ignore 0?
Not 100% sure, better to contact EPF directly for confirmation
