Buying Another Online Course Won’t Fix Your Problems… This Will
If you’ve already bought a few online courses & looking to buy another one,
Would that really solve your problems?
Or will it completely waste your money?
Let me show you what you can do instead to maximize your ROI.
But first…
Bless the Creators who packaged their expertise & knowledge into an affordable info product.
It could be anything:
- How to change careers to XX industry.
- How to start a XX business from home & scale internationally.
- How to replace your full-time job with your hobby.
Before the internet, it was impossible for us to access this specific real-world knowledge without spending a fortune & years in traditional school.
It’s truly a time to be alive.
For me though, I wanted to learn how to make a living with my digital marketing skills.
I invested in so many courses from my favorite Creators.
They helped me to self-learn at my own pace.
But as amazing as these courses are, there’s always a missing piece left unanswered.
What would you do next?
Naturally, you’d check out another course from your next favorite Creator.
Will this next course fill in that gap?
You need to act fast. You’re an entrepreneur. You’re building your dreams.
Success is so close, you can taste it. Yet, so far.
All you need is that one final piece of information, then BOOM!
So, if you’re in a similar situation as me,
where you’ve already spent on at least 2 similar courses,
let me tell you what you need to do instead of buying yet another online course.
It’s time to invest in a coach.
Online Courses Vs Coaching
Online courses are designed for beginners.
How do I know?
The courses that I bought typically include access to a private Discord channel where I can chit-chat with other students.
From my experience from buying multiple courses, most other students are:
- Beginners.
- Will feel impressed with the knowledge but most will never follow through to the end.
But you’re different.
You’re a doer. You’ve devoured all of the materials & practicing what was taught in the course.
You’ll reach a point in your journey where the materials are not enough.
You have a specific problem that other students can’t help you with within the Discord channel,
or it’s too specific & deep for the course Creator to entertain you for free in the chat group.
Buying another course will not solve your issues.
But a 1:1 Coaching session might.
So I tried a 20 min 1:1 time consultation with the course Creator.
I earned absolute clarity on what I should be doing next in my career.
So if you’re in a similar situation & on the fence, I’ll share what to expect from a private coaching session.
What I Gained from an Online Coach
I was excited to meet the coach & I prepared several things before the meeting:
- What I expect to achieve from the 20 min meeting.
- My monetary & business goals.
- My current problems (I was doing too many things & spreading myself too thin).
As I went through the coaching process, I laid out all on the table.
The coach accessed my situation & pointed out what was obvious from his external & professional POV.
YouTube is what brought you to where you are today. That’s your edge.
Rich UX
I gained clarity on where my major strength lies & what to commit 100% of my focus.
I got distracted during my growth because I wasn’t making enough money & the ‘shiny object syndrome’ kicked in & took over my life.
Long-term, I should focus & double down on YouTube.
I should be making at least 10 videos a month he said & focus on videos that can bring in recurring affiliate income.
But while waiting for my channel to take off, I need to make some immediate cash.
That could be from freelancing digital marketing services (which is related to the stuff I talk about online).
It was a simple suggestion and honestly, it was something that I already knew.
I just needed someone with experience to validate my path.
However, don’t waste money on coaching if you’re a total beginner who hasn’t gone through the materials & implement the teachings.
You’ll most likely annoy the coach as you come across as lazy.
Coaching is not for beginners.
It’s for people who have attempted the teachings but are stuck with specific problems that arose from implementing the course teachings.
OK, so how do you know if you’re ready for coaching?
How to Know When You’re Ready for a Coach?
This is my general rule of thumb:
- You’ve already spent on 2 or more courses that are in a similar niche.
- You’ve gone through most of the course materials & practiced them but still have questions.
- You’ve asked in the included community (if available), but still not getting the answer you seek.
- You feel overwhelmed with the teachings & need somebody to tell you what to do in your unique situation.
OK, now you’re convinced that buying another course will NOT solve your problems.
So how do you find a good coach?
How to Find the Perfect Online Coach?
There’s no such thing as a perfect coach.
But here’s how I narrowed down how I picked mine:
- You vibe with their YouTube videos & social content.
- Do some online research to see what other people are saying about the coach.
- You like how the coach treats you in the free discovery call (if available).
- Consider the same coach you bought the online course from.
It’s important you hire a coach that you vibe & can get along with.
This is a person that you’ll share private business & sometimes personal matters with.
Good luck with your search!
I hope this post has inspired you to get unstuck & move forward in your ventures.
